Walnut and Maple Spanking Spatula. Maple is light in weight, but is strong and durable, and will provide a very stinging sensation. This will be amplified by the focused point of impact, producing quite a punishing effect when applied vigorously. The appearance is an attractive creamy colour, with pale brown grain, which can sometimes be highly figured.
This is my standard shaped spatula with an artistic twist… the Maple is enhanced with veneers of Walnut through the centre. This spatula is designed to punish, or ‘fun’ish, and also designed to look pretty in the hand, or hanging from the implement rack. The length, including handle, is approximately 37cm, the width approximately 6.5cm and the thickness around 2cm. All sizes are approximate as they are hand cut and hand finished.
To care for your implement, just wipe down with an antiseptic wipe and allow to air dry. An occasional application of food safe oil, wiped on with a cloth or paper towel, will ensure the finish is maintained.
