Asymmetric Oak Spanking Paddle. The specific variety of Oak seen here is ‘Pippy’ Oak. It is a highly figured hedgerow variety, loved by furniture makers due to its varied and unusual markings. This individual piece has an unusual shape, almost resembling a cleaver. The Asymmetric Oak Spanking Paddle is a ‘live edge’ design. It retains the curve and shape of the tree it comes from, making for an unusual, asymmetric piece. Due to the nature of the timber, the face has some slightly open grain in places, some little knots and various other ‘flaws’… I personally describe it as ‘perfectly imperfect’… but I mention this as if you expect a uniformly flat paddle, this won’t be the one for you. It should be a real talking point which will be appreciated by both spanking enthusiasts and those with an eye for unique arty designs.
The length, including handle, is approximately 46cm, the width approximately 12cm and the thickness around 2.2cm. All sizes are approximate as it is hand cut and hand finished. The paddle is finished with several coats of a food-safe mineral oil. The paddle you receive will be the one you see in the picture. To care for your paddle, just wipe down with an antiseptic wipe and allow to air dry. An occasional application of food safe oil, wiped on with a cloth or paper towel, will ensure the finish is maintained.
